April 12, 2025 marks the 12-year anniversary of when the little boat – called Kamome – washed ashore in Crescent City as a result of a tsunami in Rikuzentakata, Japan. This tragic event sparked a special sister city relationship between Rikuzentakata and Crescent City. The Kamome Festival is mainly a FREE event and is meant to celebrate this little boat, symbolizing hope and resilience. Join us for music, food, and fun at Kamome Festival 2025!
